Chisapani Nagarkot Trek is a wonderful short and leisurely trek with the superb panoramic views of snowy mountains extending far off into the distance. The trek is specially designed for travelers who are short in time, however, would love to rejoice within the natural beauty of the environment close to the city. The changing of the urban setting into a natural one with rolling hills, waterfalls, forests that cover the terrain and fascinating sunset and ethereal sunrise from Chisapani and Nagarkot are the main highlights of the trek.

There are several vibrant villages along the way as well, thus taking a short break offers diverse religious and cultural aspect of the people’s lives. Diverse landscapes, rich cultural experience and excellent mountain panoramic views along the hike make the Chisapani Nagarkot Trekking fabulous among several trekking routes in Nepal.

The trek begins with a short 1-hour drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal. Walk along rough trails that enter through the Shivapuri National Park via a watershed and lose your worries to the sound of bird’s melodies filling up the ambiance. The woodlands surrounding the trekking path offers a beautiful experience of being close to nature and the park’s biodiversity is also a prominent notable feature. The views of the Himalayan peaks stay to provide a beautiful foreground to the green terrain as the hiking trail descends down to Chisapani. Trekkers are presented with the experience of viewing the mountain peaks in a most comfortable setting while hiking to Chisapani.

From Chisopani, the trail heads to the south following the ridges to Nagarkot - the most popular viewpoint. The way to Nagarkot is even more flawless with the best views of the mountain peaks and the abundance of green foliage. In pleasant weather, an extended portion of the mountain chain is clearly visible starting from the Dhaulagiri in the west to Mt. Everest and Kanchenjunga. Finally, we take a hike to Changunarayan and drive from there to Kathmandu, ending a memorable journey of your life.

The Chisapani Nagarkot Trek is a perennial. However, from the perspective of visibility and weather, the most suitable time is Spring (March-May) and Autumn (September and November).

Trip Itinerary

Upon your arrival, our representative will welcome you at Tribhuvan International airport and transfer to hotel in Thamel. Freshen up and take rest for a while. Meet with your guide and briefing about the trek. Free and easy evening around Thamel yourself. Night at hotel

After breakfast, our city tour guide comes to pick up you at the hotel and guided through the world heritage sites of Kathmandu including Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath temple, Kathmandu durbar square, and Boudhanath stupa. And in the evening, the guide will drop you to the hotel after sightseeing.

After your breakfast around 7: 00 AM in the morning, our trekking guide picks up you from the hotel and drives about 45 minutes to Sundarijal. And after, we begin our approx. 5 hours trek through the Sundarijal forest. The trek leads across Tamang settlements, cultivation, beautiful landscapes, and awesome rhododendron flower. Moreover, you will have spectacular views of mountains including Langtang, Manaslu, Ganesh, and Annapurna as well. Overnight stay at the lodge in Chisapani included full board meals (Break/Lunch/Dinner).

After breakfast, we begin our approx. six to seven hours trek to Nagarkot which passes mostly through the dense forest. After three hours walk from Chisapani, we reach Chauki Bhanjyang and take a rest for lunch. Again we stretch our hikes to the hilltop of Kathmandu city called Nagarkot. Nagarkot is one of the best viewpoints for Himalayan range as well as sunrise and sunset too. Overnight at hotel in Nagarkot included full board meals (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner).

Today is a relatively easy trek; your morning starts with the enchanting sunrise view along with the panoramic mountain views. We start our trek with a steep descent to Tilkot after breakfast. Further, we trek three hours to reach Changu Narayan. We will visit the historical Changu Narayan temple and take a short drive to Kathmandu hotel. After your refreshment, in the evening we will have together dinner at typical Nepali restaurant at Thamel. Overnight at the hotel included bed and breakfast.

Today is your departure day, our office representative will drop you to the International airport approximately two and a half hour before to catch your flight and pray for your safe journey.
